María Guðjónsdóttir

Biography

María Guðjónsdóttir is a professor in food science and the Dean at the University of Iceland, Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition, specializing in food processing and food quality monitoring by non-destructive spectroscopic methods, such as NMR, NIR, and multispectral analysis. She currently runs and participates in multiple domestic and international research projects on the many aspects of food production, innovation, and safety, especially of sustainable and innovative production of food. Prof. Guðjónsdóttir has a part time position at Matís Food and Biotech R&D, which is focused on enabling active collaboration between the two institutions. Prof. María Guðjónsdóttir takes part in the supervision of graduate (PhD and MSc) students associated with the project with other partners.

Prof. Guðjónsdóttir is also the PI of the currently BlueBio Cofund 1st call funded project: BIOZOOSTAIN.
